Winter Storm Warning
Issued: 1:18 PM PST Feb. 20, 2019 – National Weather Service

... Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 1 am PST Friday...

* what... heavy snow expected. Total forecast snow accumulations of
2 to 4 inches from 3500 to 4000 feet, 4 to 8 inches from 4000 to
5000 feet, 6 to 12 inches from 5000 to 6500 feet is expected,
with local amounts to 20 inches on the higher peaks. West to
southwest wind gusts of 50 to 60 mph are also expected from the
mountains into the adjacent deserts.

* Where... the San Diego, Riverside and San Bernardino County
mountains. The snow level will rise to 4000 to 4500 feet for
late this afternoon, then lower to 2500 to 3500 feet for
tonight through Thursday, lowering to 2000 to 2500 feet for
Thursday night.

* When... through 1 am PST Friday.

* Additional details... plan on difficult travel conditions. Tree
branches could fall. Be prepared for significant reductions in
visibility at times, and carry chains if driving through the
mountains.

A Winter Storm Warning for snow means severe winter weather
conditions are occurring. If you must travel, keep an extra
flashlight, food and water in your vehicle in case of an
emergency.
