Flood Warning
Issued: 7:38 PM CST Jan. 21, 2019 – National Weather Service

The Flood Warning continues for
the Embarras River at Lawrenceville.
* Until Sunday afternoon.
* At 645 PM Monday the stage was 30.3 feet.
* Flood stage is 30.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river will fall below flood stage Tuesday
morning, however a secondary rise above flood stage is forecast
to occur Wednesday evening. The river will continue rising to near
32.7 feet by early Friday morning.
* Impact... at 33.0 feet... Lumber Mill Road is inundated.

The Flood Warning continues for
the Wabash River at Riverton.
* From Thursday afternoon to Wednesday January 30.
* At 11:00 am Monday the stage was 11.8 feet.
* Flood stage is 15.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by Thursday afternoon and
continue to rise to near 16.9 feet by Monday January 28. It will
fall below flood stage by Wednesday January 30.
* At 16.0 feet... some agricultural lands underwater. A few rural
roads in Crawford County, Illinois close as water backs up minnow
Slough. High water affects campground at Leaverton Park in
Palestine. A few private roads near the Gill Township Levee in
Sullivan County may flood. Water level is at the top of most
makeshift levees.

The Flood Warning continues for
the Wabash River at Hutsonville legacy Power Plant site.
* From Thursday afternoon to Wednesday January 30.
* There have been no observations in the last 24 hours.
* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... it is forecast to rise above flood stage Thursday
afternoon, crest at 18.1 feet Monday January 28, and then fall
below flood stage by Wednesday January 30.
* At 18.0 feet... seep water occurs behind levees on Indiana side.
Hutson creek begins to overflow from backwater. Old Darwin Road
and a few rural roads in eastern Clark and Crawford counties in
Illinois are impassable. Low agricultural land floods.
