Watches & Warnings

Special Statement
Issued: 9:17 PM CST Jan. 15, 2019 – National Weather Service

... Scattered slick spots possible late tonight and early Wednesday
morning...

A chance for very light precipitation, in the form of sprinkles of
rain, drizzle, or snow flurries will be possible late tonight for
parts of southern Illinois, southwest Indiana, and northwest
Kentucky.

The best chance of seeing any of this light precipitation will be
along and north of a line from Perryville Missouri, Benton
Illinois, Morganfield and Greenville Kentucky between 2 am and 8
am CST Wednesday morning.

Although any precipitation that falls will be very light, some of
the precipitation may come into contact with Road surfaces that
are at or slightly below freezing. This may cause slick spots on
roadways, especially on elevated surfaces like bridges and
overpasses.

The area most prone to see below freezing temperatures through
daybreak will be along and near the Interstate 64 and Interstate
57 interchange in southern Illinois.

Conditions should improve slowly Wednesday morning as temperatures
gradually rise through the day.

Use caution while driving overnight and do not drive faster than
conditions allow.
