The Flood Warning continues for
the Wabash River at Vincennes.
* From late Thursday night until further notice.
* At 10:45 am Tuesday the stage was 5.5 feet.
* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by Friday morning and continue to
rise to near 23.1 feet by Thursday evening.
* At 23.0 feet... extensive flooding is in progress on the Northside of
Vincennes along old Terre Haute Road. Flooding affects local
Sawmill. At least 1 family may move from their home. The river is
more than a mile wide at the Red Skelton bridge.

The Flood Warning continues for
the Wabash River at Riverton.
* From Wednesday morning until further notice.
* At 11:00 am Tuesday the stage was 7.5 feet.
* Flood stage is 15.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by tomorrow late morning and
continue to rise to near 23.5 feet by Wednesday morning.
* At 24.0 feet... extensive flooding is in progress. Most levees are
at critical levels. Water level near the top of a few levees.
High water begins to affect residences in eastern Palestine,
Illinois and those along East River Road just southeast of
Palestine. Some evacuations are necessary. Rodeo area in Leaverton
Park begins to flood. Water near or over East River Road south of
Palestine.

The Flood Warning continues for
the Wabash River at Hutsonville legacy Power Plant site.
* From Wednesday morning until further notice.
* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* Forecast... the river is forecast to have a maximum value of 24.3
feet early Wednesday morning.
* At 24.0 feet... extensive flooding is in progress. Rural roads in
eastern Clark and Crawford counties in Illinois are impassible. A
few Mobile home residences and area along Hutson creek just south
of Hutsonville flood. Flood is at critical level for most of
levees. Extensive seep water is behind levees. Water surrounds
residential areas of Riverton, Riverview, Hutsonville and eastern
York.

... Flood Watch remains in effect through late tonight...

The Flood Watch continues for

* portions of central Illinois, east central Illinois, southeast
Illinois, and west central Illinois, including the following
areas, in central Illinois, Christian, De Witt, Logan, Macon,
Marshall, Mason, McLean, Menard, Peoria, Piatt, Sangamon,
Shelby, Tazewell, and Woodford. In east central Illinois,
Champaign, Clark, Coles, Cumberland, Douglas, Edgar, Moultrie,
and Vermilion. In southeast Illinois, Clay, Crawford,
Effingham, Jasper, Lawrence, and Richland. In west central
Illinois, Cass, Fulton, Morgan, Schuyler, and Scott.

* Through late tonight

* rainfall amounts of around an inch are expected through
tonight. Much of the area has already received 1 to 3 inches
since Monday morning.

* This additional rainfall will cause flooding of area rivers
and streams across central through east central Illinois.
Ponding of water on low roadways and near ditches is also
likely.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.
