Saturday evening...

The National Weather Service in Paducah has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for portions of southern Illinois, western
Kentucky, and southeast Missouri, including the following
counties, in southern Illinois, Hardin, Massac, and Pope. In
western Kentucky, Ballard, Caldwell, Calloway, Carlisle,
Christian, Crittenden, Daviess, Fulton, Graves, Henderson,
Hickman, Hopkins, Livingston, Lyon, Marshall, McCracken, McLean,
Muhlenberg, Todd, Trigg, Union KY, and Webster. In southeast
Missouri, Mississippi and New Madrid.

* From Friday evening through Saturday evening

* more heavy rainfall is on the way. Two to three inches of rain
will be possible in the watch area Friday night through Saturday.

* Ground conditions are more than saturated from previous flooding
rains. Rains of this magnitude will only cause flooding or flash
flooding once again, as runoff will occur quickly.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
