The Flood Warning continues for
the Red Cedar river at East Lansing.
* From Wednesday morning until further notice.
* At 9:30 PM Sunday the stage was 4.4 feet.
* Flood stage is 7.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast, rise above flood stage by late Wednesday morning and
continue to rise to near 8.8 feet by early Friday morning.
* Impact, at 9.0 feet... Jenison fieldhouse and intramural sports
Circle on the Michigan State University begin to get impacted by
flood water.
* Flood history, this crest compares to a previous crest of 8.4 feet
on Apr 8 2017.

the Sycamore Creek at Holt.
* From Tuesday evening to late Friday night.
* At 7:00 am Sunday the stage was 5.0 feet.
* Flood stage is 8.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast, rise above flood stage by Tuesday evening and continue to
rise to near 8.9 feet by Wednesday early afternoon. The river will
fall below flood stage by Friday morning.
* Impact, at 8.0 feet... expect minor flooding of low lying areas
adjacent to the river, in the Lansing Municipal Golf course and
sections of east Mt. Hope Road.
* Flood history, this crest compares to a previous crest of 8.8 feet
on Apr 7 2017.

* Flood Warning for
the Grand River at Lansing.
* From Wednesday afternoon to Sunday February 25.
* At 8:45 PM Sunday the stage was 5.0 feet.
* Flood stage is 11.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast, rise above flood stage by Wednesday early afternoon and
continue to rise to near 12.6 feet by Friday morning. The river
will fall below flood stage by late Sunday morning.
* Impact, at 12.0 feet... expect minor flooding of basements of
businesses in North Lansing.
* Flood history, this crest compares to a previous crest of 12.7 feet
on Apr 5 1950.

* flood advisory for
the Red Cedar river above Williamston.
* Until further notice.
* At 09 PM Sunday the stage was 5.0 feet.
* Bankfull stage is 7.0 feet.
* Flood stage is 9.0 feet.
* Forecast, the river will rise to near 8.8 feet by Friday morning.
* Impact, at 9.0 feet... expect minor basement flooding of several
homes in Williamston.

... Flood Watch remains in effect from Monday afternoon through
Wednesday afternoon...

The Flood Watch continues for

* portions of central Michigan, south central Michigan,
southwest Michigan, and west central Michigan, including the
following areas, in central Michigan, Clare, Gratiot,
Isabella, Mecosta, Montcalm, and Osceola. In south central
Michigan, Calhoun, Clinton, Eaton, Ingham, Ionia, and Jackson.
In southwest Michigan, Allegan, Barry, Kalamazoo, Kent,
Ottawa, and Van Buren. In west central Michigan, Lake, Mason,
Muskegon, Newaygo, and Oceana.

* From Monday afternoon through Wednesday afternoon

* 1 to 3 inches of rain is expected from Monday through
Wednesday morning. Locally higher amounts are likely.

* The rainfall, combined with a melting snowpack and a frozen
ground could cause flooding across the area.

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.
