The Flood Warning continues for
the Buttahatchie river near Aberdeen
* until further notice.
* At 6 PM Thursday the stage was 18.5 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring.
* Maximum forecast stage of 19.1 feet on Friday February 22.
* Flood stage is 13.0 feet.
* The river rose above flood stage Tuesday February 19 and will
continue rising to near 19.1 feet by Friday February 22 then begin
falling.
* At 18.0 feet... water is flowing over airbase Road on the West Bank
of the river

... Flood Warning extended until Sunday morning...

The Flood Warning continues for
the luxapallila creek near Columbus
* until Sunday morning.
* At 5:00 PM Thursday the stage was 16.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 15.0 feet.
* Forecast... the river will continue rising to near 17.0 feet
tomorrow evening.
* Impact... at 17.0 feet... residents north of Columbus and near Steens
may need to take precautions. Several secondary roads north of
Columbus have water flowing over them.

Flash Flood Watch

... Flash Flood Watch remains in effect through Saturday evening...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* portions of southeast Arkansas, northeast Louisiana and
Mississippi, including the following areas in southeast
Arkansas, Ashley and Chicot. In northeast Louisiana, East
Carroll, Morehouse, Richland and West Carroll. In Mississippi,
Attala, Bolivar, Carroll, Choctaw, Clay, Grenada, Holmes,
Humphreys, Issaquena, Leflore, Lowndes, Montgomery, Noxubee,
Oktibbeha, Sharkey, Sunflower, Washington, Webster, Winston
and Yazoo.

* Through Saturday evening

* additional rainfall amounts of two to four inches with locally
heavier amounts are expected to fall on saturated grounds.

* The flooding of roads, low lying areas, and areas with poor
drainage is expected. Water levels on areas rivers and streams
will be rising as well. If encountering flooded roads,
remember to turn around, don't drown and be especially
cautious at night.

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
