Flood Warning
Issued: 9:20 PM EDT Sep. 25, 2018 – National Weather Service

The Flood Warning continues for
the Northeast Cape fear near Burgaw.
* Until further notice.
* At 8:30 PM Tuesday the stage was 18.14 feet.
* Flood stage is 10.0 feet.
* Major flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river will continue to fall to a stage of 15.8 feet by Thursday
morning.
* Impact... at 16.5 feet... White Stocking Road is closed and floodwaters begin to
get into the homes in this area. Highway 53 is closed adjacent to the river.
Stag Park Road has water 2 feet deep on it and becomes impassable.

Dense Fog Advisory
Issued: 4:57 AM EDT Sep. 26, 2018 – National Weather Service

... Dense fog advisory in effect until 9 am EDT this morning...

The National Weather Service in Wilmington has issued a dense fog
advisory, which is in effect until 9 am EDT this morning.

* Visibilities... expect areas of dense fog to reduce visibility to
below 1/2 mile across the advisory area.

* Timing... the dense fog should improve between 8 and 9 am.

* Impacts... the dense fog will plague this morning's commute
across the advisory area. It is well advised for motorists to
slow down and use low beam headlights when encompassing the fog.
And also to allow extra braking distance between you and the
vehicle ahead of you.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A dense fog advisory means visibilities will frequently be
reduced to less than one quarter mile. If driving, slow down, use
your headlights, and leave plenty of distance ahead of you.

Carolina this morning...

Patches of dense fog have developed across portions of the Cape
Fear region this morning. Visibility as low as one quarter of a
mile has been reported at times, with many areas reporting
visibility at or below 1 mile. Visibility will begin to slowly
improve around sunrise.

Motorists should be alert for visibility reduced to less than one
quarter mile. If driving, slow down, use your low beam headlights,
and leave plenty of distance ahead of you.
