... Flash Flood Watch in effect from 7 PM CDT this evening through
Wednesday morning...

The National Weather Service in Omaha/valley has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for portions of southwest Iowa and Nebraska,
including the following areas, in southwest Iowa, Fremont,
Harrison, Mills, Montgomery, Pottawattamie, and Shelby. In
Nebraska, Cass, Dodge, Douglas, gage, Jefferson, Lancaster,
Otoe, Saline, Sarpy, Saunders, Seward, and Washington.

* From 7 PM CDT this evening through Wednesday morning

* a stalled frontal boundary remains in the area this afternoon
from central Iowa into east central Nebraska and northwest
Kansas. This boundary will provide a focus for thunderstorms to
move along as they spread into the area this evening and
tonight.

* Some locations in the watch area are saturated or nearly
saturated from heavy rain during the past 24 hours and flooding
could occur quickly tonight.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
