... Flash Flood Watch in effect from noon MDT today through this
evening...

The National Weather Service in Cheyenne has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for portions of western Nebraska and
Wyoming, including the following areas, in western Nebraska,
North Sioux and south Sioux. In Wyoming, central Laramie range
and southwest Platte County, Converse County lower elevations,
east Platte County, Goshen County, Niobrara County, and north
Laramie range.

* From noon MDT today through midnight MDT tonight.

* Thunderstorms will develop across the area this afternoon, and
become numerous after 3 PM MDT. These storms may produce locally
heavy rainfall, which could lead to flash flooding.

* Persons camping or participating in recreational activities for
the Memorial Day weekend, particularly near creeks and streams,
should monitor the weather and be prepared to take action and
move to higher ground if flash flooding threatens.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
