Winter Storm Warning
Issued: 2:52 PM MST Feb. 20, 2019 – National Weather Service

... Winter Storm Warning in effect from 5 am Thursday to 5 am MST

* what... heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 3 to 10
inches, except 10 to 20 inches above 7500 feet expected. Locally
higher amounts are possible along the highest peaks near the
Colorado border.

* Where... northwest plateau, Chuska Mountains, far northwest
Highlands and San Juan Mountains.

* When... from 5 am Thursday to 5 am MST Saturday.

* Additional details... travel could be very difficult to
impossible by late Thursday afternoon and Thursday night. The
Friday morning commute could be especially hazardous due to
snowpacked and icy roadways. Periods of reduced visibility is
likely in falling snow.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Warning for snow means severe winter weather
conditions will make travel very hazardous or impossible. If you
must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food and water in your
vehicle in case of an emergency.
