... Lakeshore Flood Warning remains in effect until 10 am EDT
* Lake Shore flooding... water levels will remain high enough to
cause some Lakeshore flooding for shoreline areas of the western
basin of Lake Erie into Wednesday morning. Northeast winds of 25
to 30 knots will keep water levels in the western basin about 2
to 3 feet above recent average levels.
* Timing... through 10 am EDT Wednesday but the highest water
levels are expected tonight.
* Impacts... inundation flooding of the shoreline will occur in
Lucas and Ottawa counties as the water levels continue to
rise. Wind driven waves will also cause problems along the
Lake Shore as waves hit the shore. In addition, shoreline
erosion is likely where the flooding occurs.
A Lakeshore Flood Warning is issued when flooding is occurring or
imminent along the lake. Residents on or near the shore in the
warned area should take immediate action to protect life and
