... Flood Warning extended until late Thursday night... the Flood
Warning continues for
the lookout creek near New England.
* Until late Thursday night.
* At 11 PM Tuesday the stage was 12.9 feet... and rising.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 12 feet.
* The river will continue rising to near 14.5 feet by Wednesday
morning. The river will fall below flood stage Thursday before
midnight.
* At 15 feet... minor flooding continues to expand along Sells Lane
in Trenton... Mason Road near Rising Fawn... and Creek Road near New
England. These roads and other roads with creeks flowing into
lookout creek will flood causing the roads to be closed. The water
will be a few feet deep on portions of these roads. Also minor
flooding will continue to expand downstream as the creek crosses
the Tennessee border into the tiftona area.

... Flood Watch remains in effect through Thursday morning...
The Flood Watch continues for
* portions of east Tennessee and southwest Virginia, including the
following areas, in east Tennessee, Anderson, Bledsoe, Bradley,
Campbell, Claiborne, east Polk, Grainger, Hamilton, Hancock,
Knox, Loudon, Marion, McMinn, Meigs, Morgan, northwest Blount,
northwest Monroe, Rhea, Roane, Scott TN, Sequatchie, southeast
Monroe, Union, and west Polk. In southwest Virginia, Lee and
wise.
* Through Thursday morning
* another round of rainfall is expected later today in addition to
rainfall that fell yesterday. Additional rainfall amounts of 1
to 2 inches are expected on top of what has already fallen,
which may cause flooding due to the saturated ground and
elevated river levels.
* Low lying and poor drainage areas will have the greatest risk
for flooding. Creeks, streams, and main Stem rivers may also
flood.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A Flood Watch means that conditions are favorable for heavy
rain... which may lead to flooding in and near the watch area. Be
alert for rising water or water over roadways. Keep informed...
and be ready for action if flooding is observed or if a Flood
Warning is issued. If you come to a closed or flooded Road... turn
around! Don't drown!
